Who We Support

brents place

The Zane Beadles Parade Foundation currently works with pediatric cancer patients and the families staying at Brent’s Place. Brent’s Place is a leader in bone marrow transplant and long-term oncology housing and programming. In addition, to a “Safe-Clean” environment for the patient, Brent’s Place provides a supportive and understanding community, giving valuable relief from the many physical, emotional and financial burdens that families face. With the money we raise, we will support Brent’s Place in their plans to expand their safe-clean home. This will allow Brent’s Place to house more pediatric cancer patients and their families in a safe-clean environment, free of charge. To align with our mission to provide the Greatest Gifts, we will be building a sport court in Brent’s Place, too. The Sport Court is designed to provide children and their families an outdoor, recreational space with the opportunity to shoot hoops on a basketball court, play 4 square with their siblings and most importantly offer invaluable respite time to simply let a kid be a kid and play. This will add immeasurable value to Brent’s Place, too by offering a unique space to foster shared experiences, fun, laughter, creative play, imaginary stories and life-long memories-all help relieve the separation and isolation families face when far away from home facing the most challenging days of their lives. The University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute located in Jacksonville, FL, provides specialized radiation treatment for adults and children diagnosed with cancer. Since opening in 2006, the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute has grown into the busiest proton therapy center in the world. Every day, up to thirty children will be treated at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. Because the University of Florida is one of only four academic medical centers in the United States with a pediatric proton therapy program, we serve children from around the nation and throughout the world.

A typical treatment course is about six weeks in length with treatment administered each day during the workweek. During this time in Florida, children and their families are far from their home and removed from their extended support networks. They leave behind their friends, their school, their pets, and many activities they love. Therefore, in addition to offering state-of-the-art cancer treatment, one of our goals is to offer children and families fun adventures and opportunities to create positive memories during their visit to Florida. It is our privilege to care for these children and we strive to create the most supportive environment. We recognize that caring for children with cancer is an act that extends far beyond hospitals and clinics. We thank you for helping us achieve this goal.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Intermountain Area provides families stability and resources – keeping families together in a place that feels like home at our Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms.

The Ronald McDonald House® is a home away from home for families so they can stay close to their hospitalized child for days, weeks even months. The Ronald McDonald Family Room® offers parents a place to rest and regroup right at the hospital, just steps from their child’s bedside.

Note: With Zane’s move to Jacksonville, the foundation is excited to expand its services to kids in need in the Jacksonville area while continuing to support our partners in Denver.
