The Zane Beadles Parade Foundation

About the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation

The Zane Beadles Parade Foundation supports the journey of young people going through life-changing medical experiences. Founded in 2013 by San Francisco 49er offensive lineman Zane Beadles, the foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that creates new experiences for the pediatric cancer patients at Brent’s Place in Aurora, Colorado, University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville Florida, Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City, Utah and looks forward to making an impact in San Francisco, California.

About Brent’s Place

Since 1997 Brent’s Place has become a leader in housing and support programs tailored for immune compromised pediatric patients seeking life-saving treatments.  The current Brent’s Place opened in 2009 is the only facility of its kind nationwide.

The University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute located in Jacksonville, FL, provides specialized radiation treatment for adults and children diagnosed with cancer. Since opening in 2006, the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute has grown into the busiest proton therapy center in the world. Every day, up to thirty children will be treated at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. Because the University of Florida is one of only four academic medical centers in the United States with a pediatric proton therapy program, we serve children from around the nation and throughout the world.

A typical treatment course is about six weeks in length with treatment administered each day during the workweek. During this time in Florida, children and their families are far from their home and removed from their extended support networks. They leave behind their friends, their school, their pets, and many activities they love. Therefore, in addition to offering state-of-the-art cancer treatment, one of our goals is to offer children and families fun adventures and opportunities to create positive memories during their visit to Florida. It is our privilege to care for these children and we strive to create the most supportive environment. We recognize that caring for children with cancer is an act that extends far beyond hospitals and clinics. We thank you for helping us achieve this goal.

Why Elephants

A unique characteristic of the foundation is its emblem, the elephant. Elephants represent good luck, protection, inspiration, power and strength. These qualities are also seen in many children as they overcome obstacles in their lives.

Zane believes that “life is about the journey, not the destination.” He will leave a footprint on your heart with his dedication and support.

Events for a cause

Currently, the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation hosts three annual events: in Denver, Colorado to support Brent’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida to support the UF Proton Therapy Institute and in Salt Lake City, Utah to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain region. Without our events and the generous support of our fans we wouldn’t be able to do all of the good we do.
