ZBPF BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Zane graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in mechanical engineering. After four years as a starting offensive lineman for the Utah Utes, Zane was selected in the second round draft pick to join the Denver Broncos in 2010. After four years playing with the Broncos, including winning an AFC championship, Zane signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March 2014.
Zane’s passion for helping kids led him to Brent’s Place and CABPES. Prior to starting the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation, Zane spent quite a bit of time with the families at Brent’s Place and sponsored several families’ stays through his own personal donations and fundraising efforts. In addition to supporting the families at Brent’s Place, Zane was also an active member of the CABPES Advisory Board. He was very involved in fundraising, marketing and recruiting students to participate in the Junior Engineers Tomorrow’s Scientists (JETS) program. He has visited the CAPBES center on twice to speak with students about the value of education and what it takes to study engineering. Because Zane managed to balance academics and athletics during his time as an engineering student at the University of Utah, he has the experience and knowledge many of these students look to for guidance.
With his move to Jacksonville, Zane looks forward to connecting with the community there and expanding the foundation’s services to support kids in the Jacksonville area while continuing the foundation’s work in Denver.
JULIE GART Julie Gart, executive director of the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation, is a Colorado native with a long career dedicated to nonprofit work. Known as a trendsetter in her industry, Julie has developed event experience and an outstanding ability to build and maintain relationships throughout her career. When Julie began her career, she found herself under the wing of Lady Bird Johnson. Julie had the privilege to work with Johnson on her beautified Texas Highway Bluebonnet campaign. Inspired by Johnson and her work, Julie realized her passion for helping others and decided to dedicate her career to enriching the lives of others. Julie’s work experience includes working in hospice with pediatric cancer patients and driving efforts to provide new bikes in low-income communities. As the parent of two grown children, Julie wants to provide the same opportunities her children enjoyed to other, less fortunate, children. Julie enjoys a challenge and gravitates to positions she can build and grow. As the executive director of the foundation, Julie is looking forward to working with Zane as they strive to grow the foundation and help it reach its full potential.
KEEGAN GERHARD Keegan has received numerous awards and accolades for his delectable skills: he was named one of the nation’s top 10 pastry chefs of 2002 and 2004 by both Chocolatier and Pastry Arts & Design magazines; featured on shows such as the Discovery Channel’s “Great Chefs of America,” CNN, HGTV, DIY and most notably as host and head judge of Food Network’s Food Network Challenge and Last Cake Standing series; and honored with a Doctorate of Culinary Arts by Johnson & Wales University in 2012. Keegan’s latest feat was opening his second location of D Bar in the colorful neighborhood of San Diego called Hillcrest. Both he and his wife Lisa have truly felt blessed to open such a beautiful second space and look forward to what the sweet future holds.
Rob Knorr A Chicago native and has lived in Colorado since 1977. While growing up, Rob played in several musical bands. His first job was teaching guitar in a music store. This led him to get a degree in business and become an Accountant. In 1990, he started his own CPA firm specializing in financial statements and income tax preparation. He has always enjoyed the accounting process as well as interacting with the clients. People are the highlight of his practice. Rob has been a member of the Colorado Society and the American Institute of CPA’s since 1985 and in 2009 he was recognized as one of 5280 Magazines best Wealth Managers. In his spare time, Rob enjoys playing in a Denver classic rock band.
Named one of OC Metro Magazine’s “Ten Women Making a Difference,” has successfully combined more than 20 years of marketing, communications, and event planning experience into a career that embraces both corporate and nonprofit spheres. A native of the former Yugoslavia, Marica is a summa cum laude graduate of The City College of the City University of New York. After a successful career dancing professionally in the U.S. and abroad, she relocated to Southern California where today she is principal of Creative Collaborations, a boutique Orange County, CA-based marketing firm. Marica is also part-time faculty at Irvine Valley College and managing director of two dynamic dance companies, Backhausdance and Motion/Tribe.
Prior to starting Creative Collaborations, Marica directed the marketing and public relations efforts of Ballet Pacifica, and created marketing and artist liaison positions for Irvine Barclay Theatre. Having worked in the nonprofit arena for more than a decade, she shifted gears as Irvine Company Apartment Communities’ director of resident communications. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing resident communications as well as the company’s community relations involvements with dozens of local charities.
It was her work with Irvine Company that inspired her to deepen her volunteer efforts and led to the position of Board President of Susan G. Komen Orange County. Currently, she serves as the Affiliate’s pro bono marketing consultant, and chaired the Komen Orange County Race for the Cure as well as the Pink Tie Ball. Her work with Komen has earned her Komen Orange County’s Warrior Award, Cameo Award, BMW Ultimate Drive Local Hero Award, Kellogg’s Rise and Shine Award for outstanding volunteerism, and recognition as Volunteer of the Year.
Marica looks forward to contributing to the great strides ZBPF is making in the multiple communities it serves.
CARTER KENT DAMMEN
Carter is a Senior Investment Management Consultant with a global investment advisory firm in downtown Denver. For over 26 years his practice has provided local families sophisticated advice and strategic guidance to help them capitalize on opportunities to preserve, grow and transfer their wealth. Carter received a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Minnesota. He enjoys water and snow skiing, fly fishing and biking as well as hiking with his wife, three kids and three dogs in the foothills of Morrison where he resides. Carter and his family are avid travelers and support children’s causes worldwide. He is thrilled to be a board member of the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation.
BRAD BAWMANN As the founder of The Bawmann Group, Brad is responsible for the strategic marketing direction and creative services for a wide range of nonprofit, private and government organizations who place their trust in The Bawmann Group to judiciously guard their brands, grow their businesses and clearly communicate their missions to those they serve. A former lobbyist, journalist and pre-medicine major, Brad has led hundreds of regional, national and international communication campaigns in the health care, education, human services, nonprofit, medical and scientific fields. In addition to helping to raise nearly $10 million for the new Ronald McDonald House in Aurora, Brad is deeply passionate about serving our community, being intensely involved in his kids’ lives and listening and learning from his much more evolved wife of a quarter century.
STEVEN WEISER Steven Weiser is an attorney with Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher, LLP in Denver. Steven’s primary areas of legal practice involve tax, business and estate planning. He has extensive experience working with a variety of tax-exempt organizations. Steven is also a certified public accountant. He frequently lectures on tax-related subjects for continuing legal education classes and teaches a course in international taxation at the University of Colorado at Denver, Graduate School of Business. Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, especially when it comes to coaching youth basketball and assisting with his son’s little league baseball teams.
While growing up in Northern Utah (Logan), and one of 5 children, I was taught the value of hard work, family values, and the importance of nurturing positive relationships in life. My father was an engineer and my mother a school teacher. I have a great passion for the outdoors as a hunter and fisher, much like my father. I am married (30 years), and my wife Wendy and I have raised 2 fine young men.
I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Marketing. I believe strongly in entrepreneurship values and have worked hard to establish and grow several businesses. My primary business focus is in medical billing with an emphasis on Ambulance billing contracts with multiple municipalities in Utah. Other business interests are in printing and investment opportunities.
Over the last twenty years, I have dedicated much of my time to personal interests such as a committee member of Ducks Unlimited, PGA Tour events such as the Web.Com, bow-hunting in Africa, bird hunting, fishing, and traveling to new and exciting places. I have been involved extensively for many years at the high school level as Booster President (baseball) and committee member for football. I appreciate the importance of raising funds to accomplish goals and agendas.
I strongly believe in “paying it forward” and leaving each life, encounter, or place a “better place” than I found it. Values which I hope to instill in my family and others through life’s journey.
Boston Iacobazzi “I am a 17 year-old Junior from Zane’s alma mater, Hillcrest High School, in Salt Lake City, Utah. As well as being an active member on the ZBPF Jr Board, I am on the football team and a Student Body officer. I am involved with many after school volunteer opportunities. I volunteer with Special Olympics events including Real Salt Lake Unified team. I also mentor freshmen at my school. I enjoy chilling with my friends and family on my free time.”
Adrianna Griggs “I am a seventeen year old senior at Castle View High School in Castle Rock, Colorado. I absolutely love being involved in the community and participate in six different clubs at my school, serving as co-president of two of them and I love to help others. I also love to spend time outside hiking or biking with my sisters, my parents, and our three dogs or going out to dinner and movies with my friends.”
Trinity Brigham “I am 15 years old and a sophomore at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colorado. Outside of school, I am a student in another non profit organization, CABPES, and I volunteer at the Denver Nature and Science Museum. I also, love being on Netflix to catch up on the shows I missed and talking with my friends about the drama we hope to see in the next episode.”
Lauren Fikar “Hi all, I am a 16 year old Sophomore, at Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper, UT. Outside of the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation I am a very avid athlete. I play both Varsity basketball and volleyball. My greatest accomplishment was being able to participate in a Jr. Olympic Volleyball Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, summer of 2016. I am also apart of my school’s Senate, where we do many service projects around the state of Utah. I hope to be a fighter pilot one day, to become exposed to other countries I could volunteer in, and other cultures to expand my knowledge of the world. As for now, I am always either studying, practicing, or spending time with my friends and family. ”
Andrew Walters “I am a 17 year old senior currently attending Cherry Creek High School in Colorado. Outside of working with the Foundation, I take part in numerous activities. I am currently on our High School’s Varsity basketball team and we are getting ready to start our 2016-2017 season. Aside from basketball, I spend my time serving meals at the Denver Rescue Mission and hanging out with my family, friends, and my black labrador Big.”

Zane has always been inspired by kids who are passionate about helping others in need. Therefore, we have created a Junior Leadership Board to mentor high school students to participate in the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation. To participate in the ZBPF Junior Leadership Board, you must:
- Be aregistered High School student, in good standing
- Participate in monthly 1hour meetings
- Be available to participate in ZBPF local events
- Organize a fundraiser within your school during the 2014-2015 school year
- Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people going through life-changing medical conditions
